IT ministry to release AI issues for local entrepreneurs.
The Union Ministry of Communication and Information Technology aims to release a raft of artificial intelligence challenges in a bid to empower domestic entrepreneurs amid the coronavirus disease outbreak. The ministry will hold AI challenges for sectors as healthcare, agriculture, education, natural language processing, smart mobility, and transportation. Applications will be invited on MyGov, a citizen engagement platform, and will also be promoted on MeitY Startup Hub in partnership with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.
Zensar launches blockchain-based contract management solutions for businesses.
Zensar Technologies announced the launch of its blockchain-based contract management solutions for enterprises. The solution called DICES (Distributed Intelligent Contract Enforcement System) focuses on agreement enforcement while the various other solutions, called ZenConfluence is actually an enabling solution on which other applications are able to run. DICES is a contract enforcement system that facilitates the transformation and deployment of plain text legal agreements into blockchain-based smart contracts.
Microchip Partners with ML Software Leaders to Simplify AI-at-the-Edge Design.
Microchip Technology announced it has partnered with Cartesiam, Edge Impulse as well as Motion Gestures to simplify ML implementation at the edge using the company's ARM Cortex-based 32-bit micro-controllers and micro-controllers in its MPLAB X Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Bringing the interface to these partners' software and solutions into its design environment uniquely positions Microchip to aid customers through all phases of their AI/ML projects including data gathering, training the models, and inference implementation.
Altair acquires Ellexus, to provide better storage for AI and ADAS functions.Altair announced the acquisition of Ellexus. The Ellexus software products, Breeze and Mistral, are actually utilized for I/O diagnostics, optimization, and dependency detection by HPC administrators of large enterprises. Altair plans to incorporate them into the storage aware scheduling functionality of Altair PBS Work. "Altair continues to expand its reach and capabilities for HPC environments to support important modern workloads including for data analytics, AI and ADAS," The acquisition of Ellexus is particularly relevant in these domains as storage aware scheduling for big data applications is critical.”
Government to reward startups for building AI solutions for health, education, mobility.
Recently, the government released the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions Challenge, inviting startups to develop solutions to challenges in healthcare, education, agriculture, smart mobility, natural language processing as well as transportation. The top fifteen startups will be given an opportunity to showcase their solutions at a virtual global summit on AI—RAISE (Responsible AI for Social Empowerment) 2020 - in October. The winner will receive a ₹20 lakh award. Besides, the government will also adopt their solution where applicable.
