One of the highest-paid actors in India is Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, better known by his stage name Thalapathy Vijay. He primarily works in Tamil cinema. Till now, he has played the lead in 66 films. His description as a “consistent performer” by The International Business Times.

Thalapathy Vijay made his first movie, Vetri, as a child artist when he was just 10 years old, breaking into the movie business. Thalapathy Vijay was born on June 22, 1974. He is an Indian native of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He goes by Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar at birth. He is the son of playback singer, director, writer, producer, and Carnatic vocalist Shoba Chandrasekhar and his father, S. A. Chandrasekhar. He is Asian (Indian) in ethnicity and has Indian as his nationality. Vidhya, his younger sister, passed away at the age of two. His mother is Hindu, and his father is Christian.

He was baptized when he was 12 years old. He practiced Roman Catholicism. He will be 48 years old as of 2022. His zodiac sign, according to his birthdate, is Cancer.

In Chennai’s Kodambakkam neighborhood, Thalapathy Vijay attended “Fathima Matriculation Higher Secondary School“. After that, he enrolled at Chennai’s “Virugambakkam Balalok Matriculation Higher Secondary School.” After that, he began attending Loyola College to work toward a Visual Communications degree.

In “Vetri” (1984), Thalapathy Vijay made his film acting debut at the age of 10. Following that, he appeared in movies like “Kudumbam” (1984), “Vasantha Raagam” (1986), “Sattam Oru Vilayaattu” (1987), and “Ithu Engal Neethi” (1988) as a child actor. He also appeared alongside Rajinikanth, who played the lead role, in “Naan Sigappu Manithan” (1985). 

Thalapathy Vijay began playing the part in “Naalaiya Theerpu” (1992) at the age of 18. Additionally, he made cameos in the movies Sendhoorapandi, Rasigan, Deva, and Coimbatore Mappillai.  

He then appeared in “Poove Unakkaga,” which was directed by Vikraman, in 1996. After a year, he appeared in “Love Today” and “Kaalamellam Kaathiruppen.” In addition, he appeared in the movies Thulladha Manamum Thullum, Ninaithen Vandhai, Kadhalukku Mariyadhai, Nerrukku Ner, and Kadhalukku Mariyadhai. His suspense film “Varisu” was released on January 11th, 2023.
