Bloodshot

This Vin Diesel-starrer is all about a vengeful soldier who’s out to seek revenge for his wife’s murder, but with a twist. Vin Diesel and his wife’s character are both shown murdered; however, the former is restored to life by an AI company that injects nanotech/bots in his bloodstream, providing him superhuman strengths.

Tenet

One of the most anticipated films of the year was Tenet. This Christopher Nolan-directed film is basically a sci-fi thriller flick in which a secret agent undertakes an international quest to save the world from destruction. The story explores the idea of inverted entropy which causes an individual to go backward in time. The film has played around ideas of physics, frequently leaving audiences dazzled. You will find many futuristic devices that have been showcased in the movie, including a dead man’s switch which can cause earth destruction with algorithms.

Coded bias:

This documentary is all about artificial intelligence. Coded Bias digs directly into Joy Buolamwini's stark revelations which the facial recognition technology of AI does not absolutely recognize dark-skinned faces.  This would have been a far-fetched truth a decade ago, but with mobile app development integrated with facial recognition and eye lens perception-based functionality, the movie was long due to being made.

Superintelligence

Melissa McCarthy plays the role of a former corporate executive who’s dissatisfied with her job. One day she discovers that an AI-based home network system she can communicate with her. Moreover, the AI system assumes James Coden’s voice, McCarthy’s favorite celebrity. The AI helps her pay off student loans, pump up her bank account, and fund a billion social cause-based foundation for her character. It helps her reunite with a former love interest. However, in return, the AI wants her to be the subject of its experiment to find out more about humanity.

This film is set in 2038 and involves lead character George Almore, a scientist, and his pursuit to create an enhanced humanoid robot modeled on his dead wife. He creates 3 prototypes — JI, J2, and J3. While the first 2 are boxier in build and mechanical and have a toddler and an adolescent’s brain capacity, his 3rd creation is closest to a human. The film goes on to then explore the complexities of a human-AI relationship.
